Breaking the Mould |
This song is fast and energetic with a darker edge bought to it
by the lyrical content. This piece is heavily influenced by
bands such as My Chemical Romance and Funeral For a Friend and
deals with an idolisation of a girl by the masses, (i.e. the
popular girl in school that everybody likes and wants to be
with). She doesn’t feel that she’s that special and wants
desperately to break away from her stereotype |
 |
Reject (By Choice) |
Throbbing
metal riff, mixed with a modern rap to give a very emotional
song about being out of place, bullied and rejected at
school. You win in the end when you realise that you want to
be different and that you don’t have to try and fit in with all
the ‘normal’ people. |
 |
Far Away |
Light but fast paced song with a slightly classic punk feel. A
great drum beat to dance to, and good chorus that’s easy to join
in with. The lyrics deal with the problems of not fitting in,
and wanting to run away and get as far away as you can. |
 |
Nice Guy |
Nice Guys don’t get the girls. Fun light punk song with a
great chorus. Very easy to move to, and a punch-line in the
chorus that anybody can identify with. |
 |
When Butterflies Collide |
Again another heavily emo influenced piece with a flavour of
metal injected to give it that extra drive and power. You are
in that one special relationship that will last forever, but
it’s going to take everything you have to make it work: your
heart, your soul, your mind, your passion and everything in
between and when its all over and done with there will be
nothing left but pure undiluted fate and the slim chance that
things will work |
 |
Truth And Lies |
This song is
still fast paced but with a much more relaxed feel to it,
enchanting and energetic at the same time, with some parts
reminiscent of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers earlier works.
Lyrically this song deals with an issue that many of us have to
face in our life time which is of lying to ourselves to make
everything alright when its not. |
 |
Betrayal |
Huge metal
riffs grind against a mixture of melodic singing and gut
wrenching screams with a chorus that is both epic and graceful.
The title for this song says everything about the song: it’s
about love, hate and betrayal and eventually emptiness. |
 |
You're Gone |
This song is a very fast paced punk/metal piece with a powerful
chorus. It has a dual theme. ‘You’re Gone’ will immediately
make people think that the song is about breaking up with your
girlfriend and being glad that she’s gone – you can quite
happily without her. However, if you go deeper into the song,
you can hear the second theme – the singer has finished with
drugs – “you’re gone and you’re not coming back – thank ….. for
that.” |
 |
Barley Lane |
A
day in the life: This song could cause offence, as there is a
lot of bad language, but the lyrics come first hand from the
daily experience of my mother from when she worked as a nurse
many years ago. The song starts with an Arabic sounding guitar,
then explodes into an almost thrash metal rant. A great live
song. |
 |
Butterflies Acoustic |
An acoustic
version of When Butterflies Collide. It has a haunting melody,
with Spanish guitar. A song full of emotion to wind down to
after the fierce pace of the previous songs. |
 |
Concrete and Street Lamps |
Heavy, dark
and fast, with a strong Emo feel. This song has a powerful
message, and is summed up in the words of the chorus: “Take your
last drink at the bar, get in your car, and drive….to…die”.

Nice Guy Innit |
Just for fun - only on the single - the alternate version of
