The Story behind the video

This video was inspired by a real-life accident, in which, fortunately, no-one was seriously hurt.

The lyrics of the chorus say it all: "Have your last drink at the bar, get in your car and drive....to die!".  The song does have a powerful message - don't drink and drive.

The introduction to the video shows Jake Searson playing with his band Appropriate Agent in the Ruskin Arms in Manor Park.  It was filmed in the afternoon, when no-one was there, to give the impression of the lonely drunk in an empty bar, drinking away, with a band playing away in the background.   The 'devil' alter ego keeps the 'good' side drinking, till eventually they go out and drive off, in his blue TVR Tamora.  The two sides of the character sing the song, as you see images of real people turning into ghosts, with many graphic injuries.

Eventually, after the main crash, the ambulance crew are trying to resuscitate him.   You see the view from his eyes.  Instead of the ambulance crew, you see the ghosts of the people that he would have killed leaning over him, and the ghosts mouth the words.  Eventually, when they can't do anymore, it ends with a flatline.
